چکیده
Abstract Since the classic studies of Alexander Flemming, Penicillium strains have been known as a rich source antimicrobial substances. Recent identified novel metabolites produced by sclerotiorum that antibacterial, antifouling and pharmaceutical activities. Here, we report isolation P. (LM 5679) from Amazonian soil carry out culture-based study to determine whether it can produce any secondary metabolite(s) are not thus-far reported for this genus. Using submerged culture system, were recovered solvent extract followed thin-layer chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectroscopy. One metabolite was isolated 5679); phenolic compound 5-pentadecyl resorcinol widely an antifungal, is diverse plant species. This previously in species only found once before fungi (that time, Fusarium). discuss activities context its mode-of-action hydrophobic (chaotropicity-mediated) stressor.

Molecular Characterization of a Fungus Producing Membrane Active Metabolite and Analysis of the Produced Secondary Metabolite
Background: The majority of studies on soil Aspergillus concern the isolation and characterization of the antimicrobial compounds produced by this organism. Our previous studies indicated an isolated Aspergillus strain soil to be of interest, and this subject is further investigated here. Method: Soil samples of various locations in Iran were collected. Extract from Aspergillus sp. culture was...
متن کاملIntracellular Biosynthesis of Gold Nanoparticles by the Fungus Penicillium Chrysogenum
In this study, the biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles by Penicillium chrysogenum, isolated from Ahar copper mine, was investigated. The gold nanoparticles were synthesized by reducing the aqueous gold ions using the culture supernatant of the filamentous fungi. The UV–vis spectrum displayed a characteristic peak at 532 nm that is very specific for gold nanoparticles. The XRD spectrum confirmed ...

Penicillium sclerotiorum is a distinctive species within the genus Penicillium that usually produces vivid orange to red colonies, sometimes with colorful sclerotia. Here, we report the first draft genome sequence of P. sclerotiorum strain 113, isolated in 2013 in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy from a flooded home in New Jersey.

متن کاملThe bacterially produced metabolite violacein is associated with survival of amphibians infected with a lethal fungus.
The disease chytridiomycosis, which is caused by the chytrid fungus Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, is associated with recent declines in amphibian populations. Susceptibility to this disease varies among amphibian populations and species, and resistance appears to be attributable in part to the presence of antifungal microbial species associated with the skin of amphibians. The betaproteobacte...
