Abstract Since the classic studies of Alexander Flemming, Penicillium strains have been known as a rich source antimicrobial substances. Recent identified novel metabolites produced by sclerotiorum that antibacterial, antifouling and pharmaceutical activities. Here, we report isolation P. (LM 5679) from Amazonian soil carry out culture-based study to determine whether it can produce any secondary metabolite(s) are not thus-far reported for this genus.
